Common questions
Can't see your question? Call us on 01924 400216. Advice is always free.
I only sell my own old things. Do I pay tax?
Usually not. Selling personal possessions you no longer want isn't trading. Buying items to resell, or making things to sell, usually is. If you're unsure, we'll check for free.
Can you work from my eBay and Amazon reports?
Yes. Download the transaction reports for the period and we'll do the rest, including matching payouts to your bank.
When do I need to register for VAT?
When your taxable turnover goes over £90,000 in any 12 months. For sellers, that means your total sales, not your profit. See our VAT returns page.
